I shouldn’t have lifted it. Not that way. Ty and I were moving stuff from the pod into our new apt in california a few weeks back and I lifted something the wrong way and strained my back. I treated it with Advil until I’d had enough and went to the emergency room. They triaged me, a doctor saw me for less than ten minutes and then they wrote me a script for Vicodin. Six weeks later I got a bill for $900. I’m reasonably sure that somewhere in San Francisco I could find 30 Vicodin tablets for less than $900. But apparently with America’s health care system, $900 is the price of Vicodin. $30/pill to be exact.
